Unfortunately, the winter storm has been extended until tomorrow night. The Aberdeen Public Schools will need to remain CLOSED for Thursday, December 15. Hopefully this will be over soon!

In this date in 1909 the annual school officers' and teachers' convention and corn contest took place. Under the direction of County Superintendent Jorgenson the teachers meeting convened at the high school building and the corn contest and work exhibit took place at the court house.
The subject of the essays to win the corn contest were to be "What I Have Learned About Corn and Corn Growing" and must contain at least 500 words and not over 1000 words.
First prize - A Webster's International Version Dictionary
Second prize - Set of Scott's Works
Third prize - Shoes valued at $5 dollars
Fourth Prize - Hat valued at $5 dollars
