ABOUT THE ABERDEEN PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOUNDATION, INC.
The Foundation is a 501(c)3, nonprofit tax-exempt organization chartered in 1992. The organization is governed by a volunteer board of directors that share a vision of enhancing education in the Aberdeen K-12 School District. Our ONE purpose is to support our over 4,300 students and 650 staff.
Mission Statement of the Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation:
The Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation empowers all students to succeed in a changing world. We promote excellence in education by forging partnerships among our schools, community and alumni. Our support of students and staff fulfills crucial and timely K-12 classroom, school and district needs not met by other sources.
Our Foundation Goals:
To raise funds to support excellence in education throughout the Aberdeen Public Schools not provided for by other resources.
To promote and support worthy educational needs of the students, teachers and educational community through donations, gifts and grants.
To inform alumni and friends of the Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation, Inc., of current activities and events throughout the Aberdeen School District.
To foster enthusiasm in the classroom and rekindle the joy of learning.
Foundation Administration:
The APS Foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors that represent parents, alumni, community and business leaders. We are a separate legal entity from the Aberdeen School District. We serve as a partner with the district to enhance and enrich education. The Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation Board of Directors determines the distribution of unrestricted funds and donations.
