Dr. Kenneth J. Meier Endowment

The Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation is thrilled to announce the establishment of the new Dr. Kenneth J. Meier Endowment aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for students across the district. This 2025 endowment, generously funded by a $100,000 donation from Dr. Meier, provides vital funding for academic programs determined annually by the Foundation board based on the “greatest need” principle, ensuring that resources align with the most pressing educational challenges.
Dr. Meier, a 1968 Aberdeen Central High School graduate, is nationally and internationally recognized for his research and studies on public management and public administration. He is a distinguished scholar in residence at the American University in Washington, DC. Dr. Meier was inducted into the 2019 Aberdeen Central High School Hall of Fame and speaks to students at CHS whenever he returns to Aberdeen.
A key focus of the new endowment is to support the Rising Scholars program, which provides essential academic testing resources and book grants for students taking dual credit college courses. This initiative underscores Dr. Meier’s and the Foundation’s commitment to fostering academic achievement and preparing students for future success.
The Aberdeen Public Schools Foundation has a longstanding tradition of supporting educational initiatives that enhance learning and achievement for all students. The establishment of the Dr. Kenneth J. Meier Endowment aligns with the Foundation's mission to provide financial support for programs that enrich the educational experience and equip students with the skills necessary for success in an ever-changing world.
As of 3/31/25 the balance of the Dr. Kenneth J. Meier Endowment has reached $100,000.
