ABERDEEN, S.D. – Holgate Middle School’s fall play will provide audience members with a fun experience of playing bingo, winning prizes—and even solving a murder mystery. 

Holgate will present “Holy Mother of Bingo: Murder Mystery Bingo Theatre” at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Nov. 21 and 22, at the Holgate Theatre, 2200 N. Dakota St. 

Audience members will play five rounds of bingo as part of the evening’s entertainment and use their detective skills to try and solve the murder mystery as events unfold. They will have a chance to win a variety of prizes donated by businesses and individuals.

Cast members are Kinsley Anderson, Fenix Bendel, Halle Buckhouse, Lennon Bunke, Rachel Dobbins, Jackson Hagen, Blake Hansen, Evan Hansen, Hannah Jepsen, Charlotte Hoines, Jaden Klootwyk, Audrey Kroel, Serenity Kuntz, Ashlynn Madsen, Addison Malsbury, Marshall Mettler, Zaniya Mcintosh, Lilly Mueller, Taylyn Muldoon, Ivy Olson, Ashlynn Rathert, Charlie Rexinger, Haydler Schiferl, Ellie Sturgeon and Teagan Thorstenson. 

Crew members are Ben Bucy, Harper Bretsch, Eleanore Cavanaugh, Emit Hammons, Peter Hemke, Kyla Kinzler, Serenity Kunz, Hudson Maak, Aubrey Martin, Mark Morris, Carter Pearson, Aissa Peterson, Emelia Radtke, Violet Swearingen and Teagan Vega. 

While the cast of “Holy Mother of Bingo” includes students who are new to theater, it also includes others who are already experienced with being onstage. 

That includes seventh-graders Teagan Thorstenson and Rachel Dobbins, who were in the school play last year. It also includes Haydler Schiferl, who has acted in several plays before, both at school and in Aberdeen Community Theatre productions. 

“I just like being different characters,” Schiferl said. “And I like being backstage, hanging out and making friends.”

“Holy Mother of Bingo” is a family-friendly, interactive theatre production for all ages. The play also includes a group of characters known as the “Cookie Cadets,” who will have real cookies for sale. They are played by Audrey Kroel, Addison Malsbury, Taylyn Muldoon and Ellie Sturgeon.

Ticket Prices 

Ticket prices are $5 for adults and $2 for students. Activity passes will be accepted. 

Audience members can purchase a pack of five bingo cards at a cost of $1. (Bring your own daubers or pencils will be available.) Refreshments will be sold during intermission.
