Mrs. Flajole’s Biology students completed an edible cell lab, building accurate cell models using food items while reviewing organelles and their functions. This hands-on work reinforced structural organization, scientific vocabulary, and model-based reasoning—while giving students a chance to enjoy the process and the product.

Central High School Astronomy students in Mrs. Flajole’s class completed their Unit 2 Scale Solar System Models. In this unit, students examined planetary motion, scale modeling, orbital distances, comparative planet size, and the structure of our solar system. Their project required accurate calculations, proportional modeling, and a presentation explaining the science behind their design. Students demonstrated strong understanding and delivered confident, well-prepared presentations.

Astronomy classes conducted a structured laboratory investigation modeling lunar impact craters. Students used flour-and-cocoa powder trays to represent the Moon’s regolith and examined how variables such as impactor mass, drop height, and angle influence crater diameter and ejecta patterns. They applied measurement tools and recorded quantitative data for later analysis, strengthening their understanding of planetary geology and scientific inquiry.
