ABERDEEN, S.D. – Three Aberdeen Public School District teachers have been chosen as Aberdeen VFW Post 17 teachers of the year.
Winners were selected at the elementary, middle and high school level. The winning teachers are:
Amanda Mayer, a fifth-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary, who has worked at the school district for nine years.
Amy Thompson, a math teacher at Simmons Middle School, who has worked at the school district for 23 years.
Hannah Carlson, an ESL teacher at Aberdeen Central High School, who has worked at the school district for 10 years.
Each of the winning teachers received a certificate and a monetary gift. Congratulations!
