Simmons 6th grade students should plan to attend WEB at Simmons Middle School on Friday, August 16 from 9-11:30am. Students will get a tour of the school, practice locker combinations, and meet other 6th graders. This event is for students only and we request that students do not bring anything with them to participate in WEB.
6th Grade Back to School Night is Monday, August 19 from 5:30-6:30pm. Parents and 6th graders are invited to pick up schedules, attend a short meeting in your student’s homeroom, and set up lockers. If you have questions, please call the school at (605) 725-7900.
This week, incoming sixth-grade band students have been attending "Beginning Band Bootcamp" in the Simmons Middle School band room! Students have been meeting in "like instrument" groups to learn instrument assembly, cleaning and maintenance. If your student is interested in fall sports such as cross country, boys golf, and girls tennis for grades 6-8 or volleyball, football, and soccer for grades 7-8, you should attend the Fall Sports Kick-Off meeting Wednesday, July 31 at 7:00pm. This meeting will be held at Central High School in the theater.
