Youth Power members socialized after school with some friendly competition. They learned that not saying "um" is quite difficult when describing things.
Simmons Middle School library is having a House Cup Reading Challenge. For each book that is read, colored stones are added to the house jars. The House with the most stones at the end of February wins the House Cup.
Incorporating something cozy like hot cocoa with reading creates a warm and inviting environment for Mrs Moore's English learners to engage with books and practice language skills.
The 7th-grade students are off to a fantastic start as they get acquainted with one another and learn their way around the classroom. They’ve been exploring the room to uncover “artifacts” about their teacher while sharing two personal artifacts of their own to help the teacher get to know them better. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and creativity have been wonderful to see as they settle in! 🎒📚✨
The 7th grade Medical Detectives learned about and created splints using various materials. We even had Nurse Nancy come and evaluate their work.

6th graders Annual Trip to Skate Away!
Do you want to build a snowman? The 6th grade Design and Modeling students did a design challenge where they had to build the tallest free-standing snowman with only paper and tape.
Mrs. Conklin and Mrs. Wilkinson's 8th grade students designed and 3-D printed snowplows for Ozobots. Today, they tested them by clearing "snow"!
