CHS Girls Tennis
2018-19 Varsity Schedule
Welcome to the Aberdeen Central High School Girls Tennis Team. The CHS Tennis Team is a program based on competition, participation, and life-long learning of the sport of tennis. During our short season, we will be competing against other E.S.D. (Eastern South Dakota) schools as well as other larger and smaller tennis programs throughout the state.
Participation in organized team athletics at the varsity level is different from the summer tournaments that many have participated. The South Dakota High School Activities Association, the E.S.D. Conference, and Aberdeen Central High School have varied restrictions and regulations in which we must follow. Our goal is to create an environment where teamwork, school spirit, physical conditioning, and mental discipline are reinforced.
The SDHSAA has determined that six flights of singles and three flights of doubles shall be considered Varsity competition. All remaining flights are considered Junior Varsity. A regular dual match would have the six singles matches, three doubles matches, and exhibition matches which do not count to the final team score but allow athletes competition experiences. We always attempt to schedule as many exhibition matches as possible. Middle School tennis team practice is offered for all girls who are interested in learning and improving their tennis skills.
